Many people who look to go on vacation look to go to Charlotte. There are many reasons that people want to travel to this city. The attractions range from theme parks such as Carowinds to the Carolinas Aviation Museum. However one problem that stops a lot of people from going to this superb city is a place to stay.

There are many vacation homes that are available in the Charlotte area. This is especially true with the increased number of foreclosures or people having to sell extra homes they hardly use. Many people also are renting out their vacation homes so that they can have some extra money without having to sell it. One area that you may want to consider renting or buying a vacation home is in the Fourth Ward.

So what exactly is the Fourth Ward? It’s the Northwest section of Charlotte’s Uptown area. At the end of the Twentieth century the Fourth Ward started undergoing restoration and has since become a thriving area. Many people that enjoy arts and entertainment enjoy visiting the
Fourth Ward is where the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is located along with The Discovery Place. Vacation homes in the area are usually found in the form of condominiums or townhouses. The average home in Charlotte in 2008 was $150,000. However homes in the Fourth Ward start at $250,000 and can go as high as $2.5 million. Some people prefer to rent a vacation home rather than invest the money.

Another area that is home to several older style homes is the North Davidson which is also known as NoDa. This area is the Historic Arts District and has many art galleries and (live) music venues. This is a great area to purchase a home whether you’re moving there or just looking for a rental however it’s also slightly expensive.

Many homes in North Davidson are also being restored and average around $400,000. However if you’re looking for a deal then you may want to find a new townhouse as they are selling for about half as much.

There are two other very popular areas for those who are not looking at staying in the historic part of town. One is known as South Park and the other is the Ballanytne area. Both are relatively new when compared to the rest of the city. SouthPark homes were developed heavily in the 80’s and are of average price. The SouthPark mall is a huge attraction for the area as it’s one of the largest malls in the entire state.

Finally there is the Ballanytne area. The Ballanytne area can accommodate anyone looking to purchase a house or vacation home and has prices accordingly. The area has homes that range from as little as $150,000 to over a million. The wide range in prices offers middle class families as well as upper class families an opportunity to live or vacation to the community. Many of the residents or vacationers like to visit the golf course that’s nearby as well. Whether you’re looking for a vacation home or a new home to move in to, Charlotte has some of the best prices and unique places to live or vacation to.
